About Us

Haki Maendeleo (HM), simply translated as ‘Rights and Development’, is a Non-Governmental organization based in Tanzania with core mandate of campaigning for the entrenchment of human rights, good governance and democratic culture in Tanzania using conventional means, as well as digital technologies, culture, arts and sports. HM is also registered as a national level legal aid provider in Tanzania. In the recent years (2020 - 2022), HM has implemented interventions focusing on human rights and inclusion governance in the country targeting women youth and people living with disabilities  living in rural area, with the support from SIDA (Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) under the ICT for Democracy Network in Eastern Africa.
